As we make our way through this dark and confused world, we should use the Word of God personally, practically, and regularly. God’s Word provides light to walk without stumbling. His Word reveals the truth to us.
Psalm 119:130 – “The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
The more I learn His word, the more I realize how much more I have to learn. Don’t worry about what you don’t understand. But act on what you DO understand.
John 8:12 – ” Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Being indwelt by the Holy Spirit, the believer is able to “walk in the light” because he has the light of life. “I am the light of the world” is the highest claim that Jesus has made so far in the Gospel of John. One of the definitions of God is that He is Light (see 1 John 1:5). He is absolute in His holiness and in His justice.
Those who deny Jesus Christ are in darkness and it’s up to us to share with others that the Lord Jesus came to this earth not only to redeem man but also to reveal God to man. Jesus gives us a revelation of God when He tells us that He is Bread, He is Water, He is Life. Jesus greatly expands our understanding by using the commonplace things like bread, light, and water, to symbolize Himself. Then we understand that not only is God self-existing, but that He also meets our every need.
